Boom! A forum dedicated to automotive blueprints. I found it through this fun little diagram of an old Renault Clio sedan.
It’s called !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! MCars.net Car Blueprints Forum which is oddly but delightfully specific.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
There’s some really fascinating stuff here.
You sort the blueprints by manufacturer. Which is how I found things like this blueprint of a 1989 Alfa Romeo 33 Series 3 station wagon.
Or this 2011 Citroen C4. I think it widely varies but some of these are made by the contributors. I’m not sure this one was but that top shot of the Clio obviously was.
Update: This Bedford one is very fine .
And they even have a first gen Chevy Cruze! Mine isn’t nearly as fancy as the one shown but it gets the point across. Also, the side view is an RS trim and the rear is an LTZ trim.
Drop any car blueprints you really like in the comments below.

From the image posted, looks like it’s a Rabuggi Atlantic.....
EDIT: OK, I googled it, and evidently the Rabaggi is an Atlantic replica built on an S-10 chassis??!!???

Both my cars are in there. Interesting.
It does show why the coupe feels like a bit of a boat compared to the tiny convertible.

I think it’s actually Road & Track that did those and I always thought they were neat. Somebody was putting a lotta work into those over there.

First off, why is that first image a gif file? It’s just one frame of a gif.
Yeah I was surprised by how many normal and unremarkable cars they had blueprints of.
Striking just how big of a size difference there is between the coupe and the little cabrio. Those last blueprints are very impressive. Were they for some sort of ad I assume?

No idea why it is a GIF. I simply downloaded it from that website.
iven some of the remarks I presume the 406 pictures are from a dealer brochure.

I just copy the image address into the paste image tool to get them on Kinja. A single frame gif is a very odd thing as you get much more compression.

That FoST diagram is quite well laid out. It really emphasizes how well proportioned those hatches were. I’m sure there is a better Mustang one out there but maybe just not in Boss trim.

I thought the Type 54 Atlantic ‘s chassis looked a little odd. I don’t see why you would start with an S10 but I also don’t see why you wouldn’t .

You didn’t look hard enough. They only have sheets 1 and 2 of 5.
It’s less of a blueprint and more of an informative series of photographs though. Perhaps something more like this would be cool.

Seeing dimensions helps determine acceptable values for how this should look(heights, widths, general silhouette). Trying to find blueprints like that on Google images can be a PITA

I really like the Fost one perfect for framing or as someone else has said laser etch it on a sheet of aluminum.

And more often than not they are compressed fifth hand drawings that weren’t extremely accurate to begin with. Technical drawings can be hard to find for sure. Are you thinking about comparing proportions and dimensions for your (what’s its name again?) project?

GIF is primarily an image format. It’s been obsolete in that area since about 1998 and hung on because there was no like-for-like replacement for animations
, but before PNGs it was the only real option for images that people could open in a browser that used lossless compression.
Which is why it’s absolutely terrible for file size and takes ages to load compared to actual video formats that sometimes pretend to be gifs these days, because it’s just a bunch of images compressed individually
rather than video formats that also compress temporally.
SMCars has been around since at least 2002 or so, so they’ve got some old images still, because it works and it’s not like some black and white diagrams are suffering from GIF’s 256 colour limit so there’s no point in converting them.

That makes more sense if they were legacy images still in the database from a long time ago. I’m not sure if this is just Kinja’s image automatic image hosting working in a weird way but that is actually an MP4 file I mistook for a static .gif. I think Kinja converts all PNG images to jpeg if you insert them into a comment here.
There isn’t really any reason to save a static image as a .gif format now. PNGs have their own set of limitations. jpeg is good enough for most applications so I don’t have too much use for PNGs unless I’m working with something that was originally a vector image or something like that.
By the way, you can apply for posting rights on Oppo with Party-Vi in this post.

Bee n calling it the lotus, seeing the dimensions of other cars let’s me know how reasonable things are(for example a scale drawing with an 18" overhang past the front wheels can be correlated to a vehicle ive seen in real life with a given overhang length)

Sometimes Kinja just decides a random user should get Kinja’d and nothing can stop it. I lost the compose post button for like a month once. Now that was annoying.

Everyt hing went on hold for the Z, now thats done ive started work on the lotus. Picking up where I left off its getting the front suspension finalized, designing/ mounting the steering setup, and mounting the drivetrain.
Some sketches of a full body have been done, working digitally has been a struggle so its minimal. The side
profiles are roughly to scale

That is going to be a crazy looking car. There’s a little bit of clownshoe Z3 in there but in a good way. The front has a little bit of F Type and the side profile has a little bit of Cobra and some Breadvan too. It's a timeless shape that's for sure.

Thanks, Clownshoe is perfection in my mind. The design is somewhat based on what I think will be,"easy" to shape in metal so it ends up forcing 60's curves into everything
